Yes. Many clients do not realize how many natural lashes one may have on the bottom. Bottom lashes can be applied to most clients. Unlike top lashes, due to more hand contact and water contact, bottom lashes usually do not have as long of retention as top lashes. Although retention may not be as long, bottom lashes make a great addition to any set and give an extra appeal to the eye.

To extend the life of your lash extensions, there are a few things that you can do. Many clients think that water contact decreases retention. Once your lashes are completely cured and you are outside of the 24-48 hr time frame, it is safe to clean your lashes. Clean lashes greatly increase retention. Throughout the day, one comes in contact with many natural oils and debris. Another way to increase lash retention is to use a sealant or bonder. Using a sealant or bonder after lash application seals the extension with the natural lash. Using a bonder allows clients to get their lashes wet almost immediately after application.

Lash extensions should not damage the natural lash unless improperly applied. Poor isolation and placing lashes on a lash too heavy for the natural lash can cause damage. Selecting a lash technician that is concerned for their clients natural lashes is number one. Clients that consistently wear lash extensions may assume that their lashes are shorter or thinner due to optical illusion. Once a client has worn extensions for an extended period of time, once removed, it can appear to the client that their lashes appear shorter. It is best for technicians to always take before and after pictures for reference.
